How long are the internships?

Internships run for either 6 or 12 months.

Will I get paid?

Yes! In addition to being paid for your work, you’ll receive perks such as free park admission and discounted accommodation.

Am I guaranteed a spot at Disney if I do a Level 6 course at NZST?

When you’re applying for your international internships we’ll take into account your attendance, class performance and attitude. You’ll also have to undergo an interview with Disney to assess your suitability. Only after meeting these conditions will you be considered for an internship.

Do I get to choose where I work?

No, but every role at Disney is magical! Available roles may include but are not limited to: Quick Service Food & Beverage, Merchandise, Full Service Food & Beverage, Lifeguard, Concierge, Resort Hospitality/Front Desk, Vacation Planner/Ticket Sales, Attractions Operations, Character Performer and more. If you choose a 12 month internship, you’ll get the chance to experience two different roles.

Is accommodation provided? What’s it like?

Yes, accommodation is provided and will be deducted from your pay. Accommodation is in one, two or three-bedroom apartments that all have swimming pools and gyms on-site, owned and operated by Disney World.

How will I get around?

Transportation is provided to and from the theme and water parks, supermarkets and shopping malls.

How much does the Disney internship cost?

You’ll be required to pay for your airfares to and from the USA, a Disney Visa Fee plus the cost of getting to and from the US Consulate in Auckland, a programme assessment fee and medical insurance.

What expenses will I incur while I’m at Disney?

Starting from the time you leave home, you’ll be responsible for all your expenses such as food, entertainment and transport (over and above what is detailed earlier on this page).
