Enrolment figures show students still want a career in tourism

17 July 2020 – Despite the blow dealt to the tourism sector by Covid-19, students still want a career in tourism with NZST enrolment figures up 13 percent in the past three months compared to 2019. 

Our CEO Kylie Wilson recently spoke to RNZ, disclosing that it was a relief students were still interested in a career in tourism, as she feared some would be turned away by the severe downturn.

“Students are showing the vote of confidence in the industry, they are not thinking doomsday, they are thinking the industry will be able to get back on its feet.” 

She also talks about the faith that students have of the industry rebounding by the time they graduate.
